In a world where harmful practices like child marriage, female genital mutilation, and sexual and gender-based violence persist, art can be used as a powerful force for change.
This is what emerges from our experience in Kenya and Somalia, where CISP and UNICEF ESARO (Eastern and Southern Africa Office) joined hands recently for a series of successful initiatives.

The screening of the latest documentary directed by Tommaso Valente, titled “The thread of sand”, is scheduled to take place in Rome in the coming days.
Produced in collaboration with CISP, Instant Documentary, Nexus Emilia-Romagna, and Rete Tifariti, and with support from the Emilia-Romagna Region, the documentary sheds light on narratives of solidarity and cooperation with the Saharawi people.
The screening will be held in Rome, on May 5th, 2024, at the Villa Pamphilj Theatre, at 5.30pm, in the presence of director Tommaso Valente.
